Statistics of phase fluctuations of an acoustic wave propagating through a turbulent flow

چکیده
Abstract We investigate the statistics of phase fluctuations an acoustic wave propagating through a turbulent flow in line sight (LOS) configuration. Experiments are performed on closed von Kármán swirling whose boundaries maintained at constant temperature. In particular, we analyze root mean square (RMS) and power spectrum density (PSD) fluctuations. A model is developed analytical predictions obtained for these quantities using geometrical acoustics shown to be agreement with experimental observations.
